The Smiling Water Dragon
 
Hi, I’m Pinky! I am an axolotl, which is a type of salamander that never grows up all the way. Instead of becoming a land animal, I keep my gills and stay underwater my whole life. Those fluffy pink frills on my head help me breathe. People say I look like I am always smiling, which I think is a pretty great superpower.
 
I spend my days swimming slowly, looking for yummy worms, and relaxing in cool, clean water. Bright lights aren’t my favorite, so I like having shady hideouts. If you watch closely, you will see me wave my little arms while I explore like a tiny underwater alien.
