Elvira
I am Elvira, a black widow spider. My shiny black body and bright red hourglass mark me as one of the most famous spiders in the world. I am shy by nature and prefer dark, quiet places where I can spin my strong, tangled web. I am not an aggressive spider, but I will protect myself if I feel threatened.
My job in nature is important. I help keep insect populations under control and play a big role in a healthy ecosystem. Even though I have a powerful venom, my favorite way to live is to be left alone and admired from a safe distance. YLooking only. No touching. Respect my space and I will respect yours. The safest way to enjoy me is through careful observation and learning how amazing spiders can be.
